On November 9, 2010, PETA Asia came to Seoul to broadcast a "go vegetarian" message at the G20 because the meat industry contributes more to climate change than all forms of transport worldwide. Security was pretty tight. That were not out of the van for long when they were covered up and drove away. However, the point was publicity and they got plenty of that.

Unfortunately, they also got a night in jail for their brief roadside display. This seemed a bit extreme given that the G20 had not even started. But the authorities were making an example and shutdown any further actions by the people involved. That meant a further planned protest against seal hunting at the Canadian embassy was cancelled.

It was also decided to call off extra actions at Olympic Park, the designated G20 protest area.

Nonetheless, some small protests were organized there by a few KARA supporters and Korean PETA supporters. The seal hunting protest went ahead at Olympic Park and it was joined by an anti-dog eating protest.

The actions got the attention of passing tourists.

Olympic Park is kilometers away from where the G20 was being held at COEX. As a result, no other protesters were at Olympic Park. Seoul authorities basically shut down all protest actions so there was no chance of riots, as seen in Europe in the past.

It was a bit of fun for the kids as well.
