Summer 2011 Anti-Dog Meat Campaign at Gangnam Station

On August 7, 2011, KARA volunteers headed out on the "Boknal" bus to tour around the Gangnam area and stop at strategic locations, such as Gangnam Station, to protest against the dog meat industry.

This happened on the same day that KARA volunteers had helped out at a dog shelter. Students from PAW at Dae-won foreign language high school and their parents participated as well.

The bus is strikingly cover with anti-dog meat messages. It was made possible with assistance from the animal protection group in the America called In Defense of Animals.

A news crew with KBS TV turned up to film the campaign (it was aired on the 9 o’clock news, August 13).

The white dog, Princess, was rescued just before she was about to sold to a dog meat dealer. She’s been adopted by a kind family and has been living a happy and healthy life.

During the event, a lot support was given from the public, which was really inspiring for the volunteers.

After protesting out in the heat at one location everyone got back into the cool bus and headed for the next destination.
