The final day of KARA's anti-dog meat campaign coincided with Malbok, which is the final dog-eating day. On August 14, 2011, volunteers headed to the crowded Insa-dong and Myeong-dong areas.

The bad weather held off with just some drizzling, so volunteers were lucky, but it was still hot and humid. Volunteers rode in the KARA Bok-bus to the first stop, Insa-dong.

There were lots of families out and about.

See the camera man on the right? He's filming for a TV show that will feature the Malbok day protest. Many volunteers were interviewed.

After marching through Insa-dong it was time to head over to Myeong-dong.

Myeong-dong was also pretty crowded. It was hot work in those costumes on such a humid day.

Once again, confronting images were shown to the public so they couldn't avoid the harsh realities of the dog meat industry.

While some carried signs and banners, others handed out pamphlets.

Here are some of the young volunteers, happy to be out and about spreading the message of compassion and kindness to animals.

The younger generation of Korea gives us all hope.

And when the day was over, it was time to say a final goodbye to the Bok-bus.

It's been a great campaign. Thanks to everyone who participated!

(A special program about KARA's Malbok campaign, featuring interviews with participants, will be aired at 10 am, September 24, on TVN.)
