Animal auction house (mainly auctioning dogs. Occasionally, it auctions black goats and ducks.)

At present, the animal auctioning market is going through a slump, which began at the end of 2004.

The going price for dog meat is approximately $3.00 per pound.

The auction begins at 1 PM everyday with the sound of siren notifying the start. There are people in the industry that purchase dog meat when the market price is low and keep it in the industrial refrigerators. An industrial refrigerator can hold up to 200 to 300 dogs.

A dog farm was situated behind the auction house that raises the following breeds: Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, and Malamute. There are also smaller breeds: Shi Tzu, Pomeranian, Schnauzer, and Balbari (*small mixed breeds).

The dogs were contained in the cages and were suffering severely from various diseases.

Livestock Market

Mostly dog breeds, chickens and ducks are being sold, except for one place that sells dogs exclusively. There is no slaughtering at the market. Only live animals are sold.

The animals being sold here are mostly for human consumption. The day that Yellow Dog visited the market, it was a very slow day according to one of the merchants. When the market is busy, over sixty buyers would be present and over one thousand animals might be sold.

Some buyers buy animals at this market and take them to other traditional market places to resell them. Some go to the notorious Moran Market Place, where all kinds of animal meats are sold. Some buyers actually have shops at the Moran Market Place.

The market will grow in size in July according to the demand for dogs. However, the demand for dogs is decreasing, and one merchant said that the livestock market has no reason to continue if dogs are not being sold anymore.

There was a large scale slaughterhouse near the market place with security camera installed at all corners.

Yellow Dog witnessed the stabbing method of slaughtering with the use of a sickle. There were also the machines used to peel the hair off the dogs.

Ironically, nearby stood the city's council offices.
