Poongsan puppy hero.

The Daum People and Animal website reports that a 85 year old man says he was kept alive by his 2 month old Poongsan puppy after he got lost on a hill in freezing temperatures and was about to lose consciousness.

The man, who is from Gangneung, Dheongryang dong, Gwang Won do, suffers from Alzheimer's and had neglected to take his medication and wandered off into the hills.

When he didn’t return home, his family search and couldn't find him so they called the police. While searching, a police officer heard the faint sound of a dog collar bell from the hills. They found the old man about 300 meters from his home, lying down with his puppy sitting on his stomach.

The man was taken to a hospital and returned home the following day. Upon recovery, the elderly man said the puppy prevented him from losing consciousness by nipping and licking him and jumping up and down on his stomach. That kept him from passing out in the cold.

Let's hope the puppy gets special treats and a good life in return.
