Three adult dogs and a basket full of puppies--11 dogs altogether--were abandoned on this lonely stretch of country road.
Fortunately, a friend of KARA member B.K. Zang rang to report the dogs and Mr. Zang came to investigate. They would not have survived otherwise.

The dogs were chained close to the basket, hardly able to move. There was no food around and no water. Being late at night, the best Mr. Zang could do at the time was put the dogs in a safe area under a tree for the night.

Mr. Zang came prepared with a bag full of dry dog pellets, and the dogs hungrily ate them down. It is hard to tell how long they had been sitting alongside the road.

In the basket were curled bundle of puppies, laying all over each other. Maybe they were part of the reason for the abandonment. They are a mix breed of Jindo and something else.
Early next morning, Mr. Zang's friend rang and said that he would take the dogs in. So Mr. Zang returned to where he left the dogs and picked them up. Fortunately he was early because a nearby corn vender was just about to call a dog farm, where the dogs would be reared for dog meat.

Once rescued all the dogs were taken to a vet and were then housed in the one enclosure together. Reportedly, a lot of people assisted with this rescue by contributing much needed funds. Still more are needed, though (see below for details).

Their situation has improved markedly, from the total abandonment by the irresponsible into the hands of caring people.

Here are some snapshoots of the puppies in good health!
One of the adult females suffered an eye popping out of its socket. She was operated on by a vet and is now doing fine.

These and a lot of others were taken in preparation for an adoption campaign.

Let's hope they have better luck in their lives from here on in.
