Government Helps Out On Yeonpyung Island PDF Print E-mail

Food being stocked for the abandoned animals on Yeonpyung Island with the help of the military and local government. Also, over 25 vets have supported KARA's work on the island.

And the other good news is that KARA has discovered a remarkable government official working on the island who considers it his job to look after the animals.

Here he is loading up the van. He began this work after a polite request from KARA. After meeting with the man, it was agreed that cooperation between KARA and local government will be ongoing. It is hoped that this will be a long-term relationship for helping animals on the island.

This area is being used as an open shelter for dogs. With a stroke of genius, old washing machines have been requisitioned to serve as dog kennels. What a great idea!

Although some dogs got a traditional dog house, I think the washing machines are just as good.

Plenty of straw has been supplied for bedding and warmth during winter.
