We are happy to report that the Incheon dog-farm dogs that were living in terrible conditions, as reported here, were rescued by KAPCA and are now safe.

Rescued dogs at the city shelter.

When KAPCA arrived at the Incheon dog farm they encountered terrible conditions and found that one of the puppies was dying. Shocked at what they saw, they made the decision to do everything they could to rescue all the dogs.

They called and asked the dog-farm owner and local officials to come to the farm immediately. When everyone had arrived, KAPCA emphasized that the conditions were illegal and requested that the dogs be released. At first it was suggested that KAPCA only take the dying puppy. However, KAPCA refused to accept this and insisted on taking all of the dogs, arguing for over an hour about it.

Then the dog farmer and officials wanted payment for the dogs, as much as would be paid to dog traders. KAPCA refused to pay, as if it were a typical dog trading deal. Eventually, half of the money was paid.

It was dark by the time the negotiations ended. All KAPCA could do was take the dogs to the nearest shelter, which was the city shelter. After 3 days, they were taken to KAPCA's shelter.

Two of the puppies and an adult dog died in the shelter but the others have gained strength and are fine. They have really grown.

Here are the preparations for moving the dogs from the city shelter to KAPCA's facility north of Seoul. The guy in picture is BK Zang, who has worked with KARA in the past.

KAPCA's shelter needed to undergo extensions to house the rescued dogs. There were 12 dogs in all that were rescued. Here they are:

Some dogs were super friendly while others were reserved and stayed back. This guy was having a great time.

The white dog here seemed still traumatized. He wouldn't come close.
