Sadly, this shelter burned down, as reported elsewhere, with the loss of about 130 animals. This will remain as a sad memorial for the victims of the fire, many of which are picture here.

Buchon Miracle Shelter is cobbled together housing for dogs on the side of a hill. It is built from wood, canvas and plastics. Supposedly the shelter has to move, but it is not definite yet.
The shelter was in urgent need of food and so it was decided that money from KARA's recent fundraiser on December 12, 2009, should be used straight away to buy supplies.

Food had to be delivered before it gets colder in January, when delivery of food for dogs will become more difficult because of the climb up the mountain. The food was trucked on December 19, 2009.

The food was off-loaded as close as possible to the shelter.

Here it is being stacked before being carried further in to the shelter itself.

Here is the shelter! It's not much to look at.

A closer look gives an idea of what a ramshackle place it is.

Some of the residents of the shelter.

Dogs that were perhaps once someone's pet.

Let's wish them good luck over the winter.
