After KARA became involved in the rescuing of 70 dogs from eviction, a location for a new shelter to house the dogs was found in Suwon. Here's the original story about the rescue.

Then we had to build it. Shelter construction got under way thanks to the generous help from our supporters. We raised enough to build a place large enough for the 70 dogs, who will now be able to stay warm this winter.

There is no residential area near the new shelter, as you can see, so the shelter will be free from complaints about noise and smells.

KARA worked hard weekdays and weekends to complete the construction work before the end of 2011. There are still a lot more work to be done inside the shelter.

The guardian--who has gone from being a hoarder to a new shelter manager--was provided with construction materials, such as cement and wood paneling, for further construction work. He promised us that he will continue working on inside the shelter to provide a better environment for the dogs.
