Here's a van full of dog food--450 kgs worth costing 495,000 won. It's the 3rd time KARA has delivered food to the Yangju shelter. The food was bought with some of last year's Bird 'N Bug's fundraising money. The choice of food was one with high protein.

The cats weren't going to be left out either.
Here's a jindo called Bakgu by the gate greeting the KARA volunteer. She remarked that most dogs were friendly, except one or two, whose figures still haunt her (she did not elaborate on what their condition was, but perhaps they have mental problems).

He is friend to humans but is wild towards the other dogs, so he's kept on his own. Sometimes other dogs came in their cage, and it gives him some exercise to chase them off.

Here's a view of the shelter entrance. The dogs have plenty of space to roam around in.

Here are a few gathered at that gate to great the KARA visitor.

These black dogs, though large and fearsome, are really friendly.

But shelter mostly has small dogs of all kinds.

Here are larger dogs kept in their own enclosure.

Another view of the shelter shows the ramshacke state it is in.

Here is a fence cobbled together with different materials. It's a really good fence, honestly. The manager and her husband made everything themselves with whatever materials they could find.

Here is another shelter area under construction.

The cat room has all the comforts and toys a cat could want.

Other cats get the run of the house apparently.

The shelter is still in need of a lot of help.

Here is Moca, who has had a troubled past. His health is still not good. He has a stomach full of water and suffers from heart problems. He gets a lot of food and exercise, though. Hopefully he is not in any pain.

This guy had problems similar to Moca and his previous owner just gave him up. This happens a lot in Korea. When a companion animal gets old or sick, it is discarded.
So the manager brought him to Yangju Shelter to live well until he dies. He and Moca stay in separate rooms so they are not bothered by the other dogs.
Thanks to the manager and her husband for caring for the dogs and cats at Yangju Shelter.
