Namyangju Shelter Cleaning Day, 24-10-10 PDF Print E-mail

Namyangju Shelter has about 100 dogs and 40 cats.

KARA members got to the shelter early on a chilly morning but had to wait for the gate to be opened. As usual, it was mostly girls. But some guys did turn up eventually.

And then is was time for cleaning!

Oct24_namyangju_2

The manager of the shelter looks after things pretty well, so it was relatively clean and tidy. It wasn't as hard as other shelters to clean.

Oct24_namyangju_3

The condition of the dogs was good. They were clean and looked healthy. The manager is pretty tired these days. She's been preparing for the shelter's relocation. We hope all the animals there end up in a good environment.

Oct24_namyangju_4

KARA members could hear dogs yapping next door, as unfortunately there is a puppy mill there. It is rather ironic and sad, since many shelters dogs might have started their lives in a puppy mill.

The dogs got a lot of attention from all the girls.

Oct24_namyangju_6

It's largely an indoor shelter so at least well protected from the winter weather.

Some cat food was brought along.
