Taebaeg Arumdong Shelter Work, 08-12-07 PDF Print E-mail

TaeBaeg_Arumdongsan1

This shelter is KARA's Taebaeg Arumdong (a no-kill shelter).

The compound is quite large, giving the dogs plenty of room to roam around in. What's great to see in these images is that large "yellow dog" in the middle of them. This is the typical "eating dog" breed found on dog farms. This dog was rescued from Seoul's notorious Moran Markets in 2002.

TaeBaeg_Arumdongsan3

Taebaeg Arumdong is paradise for this yellow dog compared to what he has experienced, and you can see him here thoroughly enjoying the social interaction and natural inclinations he was denied on a dog farm. It also gives the lie to the wreckless and stupid idea that any breed of dog is "suited" to being raised as livestock food.

The TaeBaeg Arumdong Shelter is located up in the Arumdong mountains. So the dogs enjoy clean and fresh country air.
