Being a vegetarian or vegan is not that difficult in Korea. Most supermarkets have all the vegetables you could want and a large selection of different kinds of tofu. Some even stock fake ham sausages now. For Western style goodies, such as fortified breakfast cereals, COSTCO is the place to go, or even just Homeplus. Really, there's no excuse.

Restaurants are everywhere, and even those not specifically vegetarian do have vegetarian dishes. Most of the small quick stop restaurants have Bibimbap. Just make sure they make it without meat by saying, "korggi-bae-gu choo-sayo" (no meat please).

Numerious restaurants exist around town that cater for vegetarians. Check out our small selection on the right. But if you get stuck, call into a VIPS or a Seven Springs (there's a new one opposite the Jongno Cinecore) and sample their excellent salad bars.

If restaurants are too hard, you can always take up a cooking hobby.

What's the harm in giving it a try? Kick things off by visiting some of the resources sites listed on the right or try the site below.
